Pigs Fly

You know there have been times when I've said outrageous things and the response was always "WHEN PIGS FLY" well.... guess what? It's happening, SWINE FLU!

Vintage dress up!

We went to a friends house this weekend and Athena played dress up with another little girl. Here are some of the shots I got of her. I did a little editing to make it look vintage and antique looking. What do you think?

I used some of the free actions that I downloaded at CoffeeShop

Priceless

A little boy got on the bus, sat next to a man reading a book, and noticed he had his collar on backwards. The little boy asked why he wore his collar backwards. The man, who was a priest, said, 'I am a Father.' The little boy replied, 'My Daddy doesn't wear his collar like that.' The priest looked up from his book and answered, ''I am the Father of many.' The boy said, ''My Dad has 4 boys, 4 girls and two grandchildren and he doesn't wear his collar that way!' The priest, getting impatient, said... 'I am the Father of hundreds', and went back to reading his book.. The little boy sat quietly thinking for a while, then leaned over and said, Maybe you should wear a condom, and put your pants on backwards instead of your collar.'

Cravings

What have your cravings been with your pregnancies? At this moment in time I want Chinese food constantly although I can only handle it about once a week and my husband will only eat it about once a year or so. I just had to go get Chinese to go from our Lin's Garden in town. I like them the best because they have lemon chicken.... YUMMY! The last time I was pregnant I craved steak (I'm normally not a steak eater), cantaloupe, and Pepsi or any caffeinated beverage (although i tried to resist as much as possible, I had to give in every now and then). I admit I am drinking a Dr. Pepper at the moment but it just sounded so good with my Chinese food :) That reminds me I have a cantaloupe in the fridge that is in need of a good cuttin' so I can eat it!

I just want to say when I searched for pictures of Chinese food this is one of the pictures that came up. Shame on them... who would really do that anyway? Those puppies are so cute. Besides I heard more jokes about it being cats... Get it right if you're going to be offensive!

TwiCon

I have become a extreme Twilight fan thus loving the actors/actresses in everything else they do. I so wish I could go to the TwiCon convention in Dallas on the dates of July 30-August 2 in Dallas, TX. Most of the cast will be there minus Edward and Bella but there is so much more.... I wish I could just go to the Volturi Masque Ball the one evening and get tickets to the 100 Monkeys show. They go on sale May 1st but I'm not sure where. I guess they will be through the convention. 100 Monkeys if you haven't already heard consists of Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) and a few of his actor/music friends that he lives with. They are a cool and funny band. I just want to be able to experience them in person.

I did notice though that on his page they will be playing at a place called Hal Samplers Gallery on May 30th in Dallas, TX. The admission is free but I don't know what kind of show it will be considering it is in a gallery. Who cares I may try to go anyway pregnant and all. I'm sure there won't be smoke since it is a gallery, at least not like a bar.

I FELT IT!

So here am I this evening sitting in the chair and downloading some free photoshop actions and templates from CoffeeShop's blog and I distinctly felt the baby move or should I say more like kick me a few times. I am only 13 weeks and 5 days but I could definitely tell it was it. This is my second pregnancy and all and I have heard that you feel it much earlier with your 2nd and subsequent pregnancies but I never thought it would be this early. Of course I did show early and have a good lil belly. I just want to say that I know it's not gas :)

What's the earliest that everyone has felt their 2nd or even 3rd babies move during pregnancy?

Happy Secretaries Day!

I just want to say to all my fellow administrative professionals.... Happy Secretaries Day, well actually it's called Administrative Professionals Day. Same thing, we do the same job right. We're all under paid and bust our butts to make sure everything in the Office or business is under control. We clean up the messes that everyone else makes.

Our Dean of our college at the University took our secretaries out and so did the other Dean. We met at the Marketplace and had a YUMMY lunch! Out of all the 10 people at our table, 8 secretaries and 2 Deans, 8 of them had salads. I of course ordered real food. Chicken tenders, baked potato, and of course a huge side salad came with it. Our Dean order some kind of Chicken sandwich. Me, I'm a meat, bread, and potato kind of gal. I just can't settle for a measley salad. Well I say measley and the plate is about the size of a small tire... no exageration.

Hope everyone had a great day....

FUNNY!

ONLY A MAN WOULD ATTEMPT THIS

Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife. A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Tazer for their anniversary submitted this:
Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse- sized tazer. The effects of the tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety......??
WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home.. I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button and pressed it against a metal surface at the same time; I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs.
AWESOME!!!
Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what that burn spot is on the face of her microwave.
Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two triple-A batteries, right? There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat.. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong?
So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, and tazer in another. The directions said that a one-second burst would shock and disorient your assailant; a two-second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; a three-second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting the batteries.
All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference; pretty cute really and (loaded with two itsy, bitsy triple-A batteries) thinking to myself, 'no possible way!' What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best.. ..?
I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side as to say, 'don't do it dipshit,' reasoning that a one second burst from such a tiny little ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad. I decided to give myself a one second burst just for heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and . ..
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD . . WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION . . . WHAT THE HELL!!!
I'm pretty sure Jessie Ventura ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs? The cat was making meowing sounds I had never heard before, clinging to a picture frame hanging above the fireplace, obviously in an attempt to avoid getting slammed by my body flopping all over the living room.
Note: If you ever feel compelled to 'mug' yourself with a tazer, one note of caution: there is no such thing as a one second burst when you zap yourself! You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by a violent thrashing about on the floor.. A three second burst would be considered conservative?
IT HURT LIKE HELL!!!
A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. The recliner was upside down and about 8 feet or so from where it originally was. My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching. My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs. I had no control over the drooling.
Apparently I pooped on myself, but was too numb to know for sure and my sense of smell was gone. I saw a faint smoke cloud above my head which I believe came from my hair. I'm still looking for my nuts and I'm offering a significant reward for their safe return!
P.S.. My wife, can't stop laughing about my experience, loved the gift, and now regularly threatens me with it!
If you think education is difficult, try being stupid !!!

Thanks Tanya for this one!

My 2 Cents!

Here is my new object of affection. Everyone has been drooling over Kristen Steward (BELLA) and Robert Pattinson (EDWARD), and have totally overlooked Jackson Rathbone (JASPER). He is just as hot and has a lot going for him. He actually is in a band called 100 Monkeys and they really are pretty good. If they were to come around here anywhere close believe me I would be there. I admit I was in awe over Robert and still am but I think Jackson needs some recognition and I am willing to give that to him :) plus I hear Robert is being a player and trying to date both girls from Twilight Kristen and Nikki Reed (Rosalie). I think they both know and are still vying for him... I guess it's their bad if things go awry. This is just my opinion on the whole bit.

Twilight Scandal!

So I'm on my way to work this morning and I hear some disturbing news on the radio. I think everyone knows by now that I am a big Twilight fan and to hear what I did make me now only mad but sick. They said that they have put off making NEW MOON because someone is claiming that Stephenie Meyer ripped off their idea from one of the short stories she wrote in college so now they are going to court over it. I guess this Heidi girl who is claiming this was Stephenie's roommate in college. How could she claim something like this. Stephenie is one talented mama and has proved herself far beyond. I think Heidi is just jealous that Stephenie is famous now and she isn't. How could people stoop so low. Does anyone out there really think that Stephenie really ripped her off? Because I don't! I've been searching online for this info and cannot find anything... has anyone else heard this?

Finally done!

So I finally finished editing all my photos from the Easter shoot last weekend. I was pretty satisfied with them and am hoping the family will be too. The only thing I wasn't happy about was that I didn't get too many good ones with ALL 4 KIDS together. That was rather difficult and something I will have to work on. There was never a time when they all looked at the camera at the same time hardly. Here are a few of my favs. By the way... this is my first paid shoot so I'm happy about that and I'll be saving the money for a zoom lens.

PREGNANCY

I am 13 weeks exactly today. I'm a third of the way to the end of my pregnancy and the beginning of motherhood once again. I'm so excited. I went to my OB appointment on Wednesday and everything went good. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat with the doppler and it sounded strong as ever. I talked to the Doc a little bit and had some questions, in particular about the C-section. I mentioned to her that the nurse-practitioner told me it would be automatic for them to schedule me to do another C-section a week before my due date since I have already had one. I asked my doc if they didn't do VBAC's and she said that it wasn't that she was against them but it currently wasn't possible because they don't have 24 hour anestesia at the hospital where I will be delivering, and that is one of the requirements for them to have. She did however say that the anestesia department was making some changes and who knows, they may have that available before I deliver. If that were to happen she would let me know and we would discuss it more in depth. That is a little reassuring to one day have the option maybe. Anyways I will post some belly pics soon as I have been making my hubby take pictures just about everyweek of my pregnancy to see how I'm progressing, at least when we remember. Today is the day to take week 13 photo.

just playin' around

So I have finally got around to start editing some of the Easter pictures I took Saturday. I have been procrastinating because we finished up our taxes and met our tax guy Tuesday. I'm just glad it's over now for about another year at least. Anyways... I have been trying out some new actions and I even figured out how to make a watermark which is not exactly what I wanted but it will do for now.
This little girl and all her cousins were just so adorable, I can't wait to post more as I get them done.

At the Lake...

My father-in-law is camped out at the lake for a few weeks so we thought that we would pay him a visit because my daughter has been missing him like crazy. I snapped a few pics of my baby girl in her outdoor element.

At the Park...

So today I did my first paid shoot. I didn't charge them much since it was a friend that I work with and went to school with but I had to charge him enough to pay for my gas into town and my time. I thought $30 was great for a session fee and putting it either on a disc or flash drive for them to take to print whereever they please. I'm just getting started and really need to gain the experience before I can charge what I really want or need to be charging. I know a lot of photographers charge a lot more for their session fees and charge even more for the discs. I did have a blast taking pictures of 4 little kids and even the ducks at the park. The funky haired duck was my fav. I should have pics of today's Easter shoot up soon but for now here is the silly duck.

My buttons...

So I finally finished eclipse yesterday and started in on breaking dawn yesterday.... Of course it started out great. I did see my 12 year old niece yesterday and she tried to ruin it for me by telling me some stuff but it made me that much more anxious actually to get to that point. It's one thing for someone to accidentally blurt something out but she intentionally tried to ruin it for me knowing I just started reading it. I know I was a teenage girl once but I don't remember being so bratty and rude to my elders just so I would look like I knew what I was talking about. Don't get me wrong I love her to death but she intentionally tried to push my buttons yesterday.

For example: my sister-in-law was talking about my long haired chihuahua and mentioned how she was ugly, and I said Hey please don't say that U word around Athena (my 4 year-old). I told her she had once told me I was ugly and she didn't know how that would hurt someones feelings and I didn't want her to go around saying that to other people. Along with Stupid, I can't stand for her to say that so I try to warn everyone not to say that around her even though I know it will slip. It's okay if it's by accident but my niece purposefully a few seconds after I warned her mom, looked my daughter in the face and said Athena your dog's UGLY! That set me off. She likes to push my buttons and it's easier when I'm pregnant and my hormones are so high and I'm moody.

ECLIPSE

I finished NEW MOON today after only a day and a half... I started in on ECLIPSE this afternoon and should be reading it tonight because it is good. I havn't been going to be until about midnight every night.... I'm telling you it's an addiction. So much that I'm thinking of naming my child Edward if it's a boy... :) not sure if everyone else will like it though. I'll let you know when I finish the 3rd and start on the last... What am I going to do when I'm done? I guess I'll go on to another series but it will never be the same.

I had a class today at work and the person teaching it said that she started reading the first book and couldn't finish it because she said "THAT GIRL (BELLA) IS SO ANNOYING" she said she was whining and she couldn't take it.... I don't agree. Although she is clutsy and needy of protection I don't feel she's whiny. I feel for her and her distress and I sometimes feel I can relate. Is that crazy?

I'm such a ball bag!

WARNING: Do not read any further if you do not want me to ruin anything for you when it comes to the 2nd book in the Twilight series. I finally was able to get the second book of the Twilight series NEW MOON from my cousin. She had told me that the 2nd book was not her favorite for the sheer fact that she cried through most of it. I know I am emotional and all with the pregnancy anyway but I balled last night as I got through the first few chapters. I was so sad when he had left her. I really felt her pain. He acted as if he was stone cold about it and it didn't bother him to leave her. He even told her that he didn't want her, I just broke to pieces too. I know how he really feels about her though and it's just a front... to make it easier for the both of them. I mean he did speak to her in her mind after all when she was about to do something crazy in Port Angeles. Sorry if you haven't gotten around to reading it yet and I may have ruined it for you. It's still worth reading believe me! Any other Twilight fanatics out there?

Twilight... Oh my Goodness!

Oh my Goodness... I just finished reading Twilight (the first book of the series) and I am hooked. I am not an avid reader at all, in fact I would honestly rather watch TV than read because most of the time I do not comprehend most of what I just read. Sometimes I usually have to read a paragraph more than once to remember what I just read. Or it just makes me plain sleepy, But I was so into Edward and Bella that this wasn't the case this time. It was such an easy read and it always kept me in suspense. I caught myself actually smiling and laughing while I read at times... hoping no one was watching my expressions. I borrowed the first book from my cousin thinking it would take me weeks if not a month or two to actually read since the book is quite large but to my surprise I finished it last night after only 2 days of reading. I told her I would trade it out for the next when I finished but she wasn't around last night for me to do so. Now I am in agony of nothing to read. What am I going to do?

I have even found myself dreaming of vampires... Edward is so sexy... not only from the cover but just his actions and intentions make him that way too.
