After the ultrasound...

So I'm airing out my dirty laundry and have plenty to tell...

Well I went to the Dr. Monday and they did another ultrasound. By my dates I should of been 5 weeks and 3 days but when she measured the sac she seen it said I was only 4 weeks and 5 days. But she still didn't see anything in the sac. That is still not very reassuring for me considering with a tubal you can still have a psuedosac in your uterus. I think she thought that it was still early and she told me she didn't think it was an ectopic. She measured my cyst and it was still big and ugly, measuring 4+ by 4+ by ? centimeters. No wonder why I've been hurting so much but my pain has eased up a bit but it still sucks. She said as long as I wasn't bleeding or the pain didn't get out of hand that she wanted me to come back in 2 weeks because we should finally be able to see the fetal pole and a heartbeat. When I got up to the desk to make an appointment she made it for March 17th and told me that was the earliest. Man that sucks because I won't get any for sure reassurance for another 4 weeks.

On top of all this my mom is flipping out over the whole deal. I had told my aunt the other day that I was pregnant but we still know for sure if everything was OK and she knew I hadn't told my mom yet. I wanted to wait to tell my mom until I knew for sure everything was OK. My mom and I really hadn't had a great relationship anyway for awhile, although we text about stuff every now and then. My aunt stopped by there Sunday to tell her about a gift she got and asked her if she had talked to me, and she said No, Why is she pregnant again? So now only a couple of days has gone by and she's pissed that I didn't tell her but I told other people, and she said she knows where she stands. I explained to her the situation but she kept trying to make me feel guilty and bad. I finally told her I didn't want any additional drama and she needed to quit trying to make me feel bad because it would do nothing but push me further away from her. The last text she said was Don't worry there won't be any drama from her because there won't be her around and that's the last words from her. I hope she's not stupid enough to OD or something. She's not in that great of health anyways and now that she is off probation I hear she went back to the drugs. If she does something stupid, then that is rotten because I will feel like its my fault. What am I to do because I am not going to kiss her ass to make her feel better, this is my life and she has already screwed up her relationship royally when we let her parole to our house, got her a car and she ended up going back to jail when she got pulled over because she had drugs in her purse. She knew that I did not allow that and she had to of brought it into my home where my daughter was (less than 2 years old at the time) and she loved going through purses..... now can you see why I still don't have that great of relationship with my mother!

Update!

Some reassurring news... my levels went from 307 to 550 in just shy of 48 hours. I'm supposed to go back Monday afternoon for them to do another ultrasound. The doctor said they should be able to see it by then. As far as the cyst, she said that it's probably a normal cyst of pregnancy that women make and it should go away by 10 to 11 weeks. I guess some women show it during ultrasound and are bigger than others. Who knows.....
anyways I get to go back to work tomorrow but I dread it.

Friends are like fudge...

Friends are like fudge, mostly sweet with a few nuts! I found a blog with some freebies and this template was one of them... Although I did change Friends from Family.... This was just a quickie job and the first few pics I could find.

Catch Up!

There has been so much that has been going on this last week. The most important though is I found out I was pregnant on the 12th. I hadn't even missed a period yet. But somehow I knew, I had been having super smell almost making me sick. I already had cravings for bonless BBQ chicken EVERYDAY! I took another test a few days later just to be sure and it was positive too. I have been having pain on the left side for about a week. It is the same type of pain I had when I used to develop functional cysts on my ovary. I called the Dr. Monday morning to make an appointment and was hoping they would get me in soon because I was afraid that it might be a tubal b/c of the similar pain. Well... they told me to come in asap and they would run my blood and do an ultrasound. Well the ultrasound revealed I had a Complex Cyst on my ovary but since it was early in pregnancy they couldn't see the embryo, they couldn't tell if I had a tubal in addition to the Cyst or if it was just an early pregnancy b/c my blood suggested that my hormones were low (which indicates an ectopic) but that is why they want me to come back Wednesday morning to take more blood. If my levels havn't doubled like they should then it is probably a tubal. They told me to take it easy and take off from work until after I go back on Wednesday and we'll see where we are. I have so much going on at work that I hate to take off especially since I don't have sick or vacation days to use... I have been hating my job anyways lately so if they fire me since I'm during my evaluation period I wouldn't care... (Even though we desparately need the money, I'd find something else) Or maybe I could go gungho with the photography thing....

I'll update after tomorrow after I go back to the Dr.

Antique Athena...

I downloaded Photoscape last night when I realized that you could do the antique look to pictures with a simple click. Don't get me wrong I love photoshop but I think there are simpler programs out there with the actions you want as part of the program. If you go to http://www.download.com/ they have several photo editing programs free to download as long as they aren't for commercial use, only for home and office. Here is the pictures that I edited really quick and I love the look.

The Notebook....

I watched the movie THE NOTEBOOK for the first time this morning and I swear it was one of the best romance movies I have ever seen. I know I heard good ratings from it back when it first came out but I'm not one for going to the movies or even renting from the video store. It just happened to be on Sattelite and I recorded it. The plot was amazing and the love the shared was the kind of love I hope the continue to have with my husband forever, although I hope neither one of us has dementia/alzheimers (even though it runs in his family). I balled my eyes out at the end when he laid in bed with her at the end, not really what I was expecting, I was expecting another one of her Sundowner episodes. Sorry if I ruined the ending for anyone... I really didn't say exactly what happened. Anyone who hasn't watched it, NEEDS TO! especially now that Valentines Day is coming, definitely a chick flick...

Mumps scare!

So my daughter was feeling well yesterday so I let her stay home from school and with grandma. She ended up with 102 fever and the last two nights she has been waking up every few hours thirsty and wanting water. The first thing she wants when she wakes up is water. The extreme thirst was starting the worry me. We gave her tylenol for the fever yesterday and it went away and hasn't came back. She hasn't been eating hardly anything though and she did however complain yesterday that her neck hurt but I didn't notice anything until this morning when she said that her neck hurt again. On one side of her neck it was soooo swollen it was started to look like her face was starting to swell. I freaked out. She couldn't hardly even open her mouth to let me look at her throat. I called her doctors office and since it was Saturday they had someone on call. They told me I could either go to the ER or go to the walk-in when I explained her symptoms. So we decided to go to the walk-in because it would only be a co-pay, if it was serious they would refer us elsewhere if needed.

The nurse came in and asked questions and looked at her and when she was leaving she asked, "Has she had Mumps before"? I said No but she she has had all of her shots. When the doctor came in he just asked some questions, looked at her ears and throat and sent her to lab to be swabbed. He thought she had strep but the swap came back negative so they sent another to be cultured to see if it was something else or to see if the culture showed up later that it grew strep. He ended us telling up that there was a viral pharyngitis going around and that is maybe what she has. To just give her tylenol or motrin for pain or fever and it will take 7-10 days to run it's course. She can go back to school as long as she doesn't have a 100.5 fever for at least 24 hours. I asked specifically if it wasn't mumps and he said he didn't think it was. He says this is what she has, and that it is part of an upper respiratory thing but when he listened to her lungs they were fine and she hasn't been complaining of her throat hurting and when I ask her right out if it hurts she says NO! I seriously don't think this is what it is. I know my daughter and her lymph nodes don't swell up from some little thing like this. Let me tell you she has been know to have some weird disorders occur after she is getting over her respiratory illnesses, something to do with the antibodies and her bodies reaction to them..... She just had a case of the croupe in DEC/JAN . She used to get bronchitis several times during the winter months and occassionally croupe, but she is growing out of the age of croupe but the doctor says that she must have a smaller than usual airway for her age for her to still be getting it.

What do you think, should I call her regular doctor on Monday and just let him know what the walk-in doctor diagnosed her with and my worries or should I just wait it out and wait for her to get better or worse.

My only concern is that like I said with the viral pharyngitis she can go back to school at any time as long as she hasn't had a fever for at least 24 hours, but if it is something as major as Mumps she has to stay home for at least 9 days after the onset of swelling symptoms. There is really nothing they can do for Mumps but keep them comfortable with tylenol and motrin but I'd hate for her to expose other kids if she really does have something like that. Know what I mean!

Mother/Daughter pics....

So when I set up my studio the other day and was taking Valentines pics my daughter wanted to get in on some of the action and take some photos too.... at one point during my shoot she was actually watching me and telling me "Mama stick out your bobo (butt) like this" She was actually trying to show me some moves. So when I was done and she wanted me to take pictures of her, she had her tutu on and said look mom I'm sticking out my bobo like you.... I thought it was funny and the pictures are funny too!

Coffee Cup Fun

So I went to the Coffee Cup this weekend to watch my friend Felisha sing with Ray. Here are a few pictures from the show.
